In 2005, a new group by the name of Sugarland notched their second straight #2 hit in “Something More.”
Following the successful debut single in “Baby Girl,” Sugarland followed that up with another smash hit that fell just short of #1. It’s pretty wild that a new artists first two singles fell a spot short of the top spot. It wouldn’t be until late 2006 with “Want To” that the group landed their first #1.
“Something More” tells the story about a person in the day-to-day grind of life but knowing that there’s something better out there for them. With heavy guitar sounds and Jennifer’s distinguishable vocals, it’s no surprise this became a top hit for the group. Even nearly 15 years later, it’s a timeless song.
