New Music: April 1, 2019

New albums this week from George Strait, LOCASH, and Jake Owen highlight this week’s new music.

George Strait’s new album Honky Tonk Time Machine is more of what we’ve come to expect from The King — timeless country songs. Check out one of them called “Two More Wishes.”

LOCASH released their latest album in Brothers. This project is their best work yet. “God Thing” is one of the songs on the album that was co-written by Tyler Hubbard and Russell Dickerson.

Jake Owen also had a new album drop this week. Crazy week for new music huh? Greetings From…Jake has an album full of great new songs for you to check out. It really seems like he’s elevating his career to new heights. You need to check out “Homemade” off of the album.

This week Thomas Rhett released the track list to his upcoming album Center Point Road due out May 31st. He also dropped a new song off of that project. If you haven’t been a fan of what he’s released so far this year, chances are you’re going to really like “That Old Truck.”

Mr. Luke Bryan surprised us country fans with a new song out of nowhere this week. “Knockin’ Boots” is catchy as all heck. It’s going to stick in your head all week too.

Blake Shelton dropped a new one with “God’s Country.” Written by Devin Dawson and HARDY, it’s a bit of a different sounding Blake than you may expect but lyrically and musically it’s a jam.

Hannah Ellis is one of our favorite artists to keep an eye on as we truly do think she’s the next female artist that’s going to be a household name. “Your Woman” is her latest that she released this week.

Another one of our favorite artists is Levi Hummon who is blazing his own path without a major label behind him. “Night Lights” is a super infectious song that you’ll want to add to your playlist.

If you’re a fan of the traditional country music, then it should come as no surprise to you that Midland’s latest is right up your alley. “My Lonely Line Dance” is a song that naturally gets your boots tapping and wanting to have a good night.

Granger Smith teams up with his alter ego Earl Dibble’s Jr in a party in the country song. It’s a bit of a different sounding Granger as he brings in the Sam Hunt talking/rapping element during the verses but it’s catchy. Check out the music video for “Holler.”

Jana Kramer gets very vulnerable in her new song titled “Beautiful Lies.” Singing about her and her husband’s story you can get a glimpse of the pain Jana felt the last few years. Powerful vocals with powerful lyrics.

April Kyr is an up and coming country artist to add to your playlist. “If Girls Ruled the World,” empowering song for women, is her latest that she released this week.
