You may not have heard of her yet, but you’re about to.
Growing up in St. Louis, Renee Blair realized at a young age that she wanted to have a career in music. Shortly after high school she made the move to Nashville. However, things didn’t go according to plan.
She was in a bad car accident that left her mouth wired shut for eight weeks. It wasn’t long after that she was in a bad boating accident that led to have a large steel plate inserted in her arm. She jokes that they call her “Iron Woman” because of her toughness going through both serious accidents.
She carried on, putting her nose to the grindstone, continuing to write and perform as much as she could. Recently she caught her big break when Shane McAnally signed her to a publishing and production deal with his company SMACKSongs.
We had the opportunity to see Renee Blair live this past fall when she was on tour with Filmore and Hannah Ellis. Her voice is truly powerful and her range was one of the most impressive parts of seeing her live. She’s country but I think she has crossover potential as well. Teaming up with Shane McAnally is going to be so great for Renee and her music career.
She’s set to release an EP or album at some point this year. In 2018 she released two songs that give country fans a glimpse of what’s to come in the future. She’s someone we’re big fans of and encourage you to keep tabs on her in the coming years as she really launches her career.
