Throwback Jam: “Speed”

In December of 2002, Montgomery Gentry released their second single from My Town, an album that is still their best selling album to this day.

“Speed” cleverly tells the story of a guy getting over a breakup by trading in his truck for a fast, new ride that doesn’t have all the memories of the past. The memorable song was written by Jeffery Steele who has written other top Montgomery Gentry hits including “Gone,” “Hell Yeah,” “My Town,” and “Something to Be Proud Of.”

“Speed” peaked at #5 on the country charts in 2003.
