The last two weeks of December and the first week of January are pretty notorious for being slow for new music. It’s just not a great time to release new music. That being said, we appear to be turning the corner with new music on the horizon; most notably a new album from Randy Houser.
This week Chris Young released “Raised On Country” where he pays homage to the artists he grew up on that shaped him into the artist he is today. With Walker Hayes and Lauren Alaina’s songs honoring the artists of the 90s, this might become a bit of a fad for a few years.
The other notable new release this week is from Ryan Hurd. In “Michigan For the Winter” Hurd sings about getting over someone by getting as far away from them as possible. The Michigan native is due for a real breakout year.
