Throwback Jam: “Meet in the Middle”

In 1991, a new country band by the name of Diamond Rio released their debut single “Meet in the Middle.” The song would end up reaching #1 and Diamond Rio became the first ever country band to have their debut single reach the top of the charts.

The opening instrumentals along with the opening lyrics “It was 700 fenceposts, from your place to ours” is so memorable that it instantly puts you back in a 90s country mindset.

Diamond Rio would go on to have many more hits including “Norma Jean Riley,” “One More Day,” and “Believe.” But “Meet in the Middle” is the one that always stands out, because it’s the song that jump started Diamond Rio’s career.
