New Music: October 8

What a time for country music. Within a months time we were granted new music from Carrie Underwood and now the man himself – Eric Church. Fans of Church have waited for 3 years for new music, and boy were they not disappointed. The 11 track album will please fans of both new country music and those who long for the old days. From “Hippie Radio” and “Some Of It” this album is classic Church, relying heavy on lyrics, steel guitar, and of course Church’s haunting voice.

Another giant in the country world made waves with the release of two new tracks. Tim McGraw, after spending the last few years on the road and making a duets album with Faith Hill, is ready to give fans new solo material. “Thought About You” and “Neon Church” prove that Tim has upped his game. If these songs are any indication as to how the rest of the album will be, we are in for a treat.

Not to be forgotten, Lauren Alaina released a fun, girl power song “Ladies in the 90’s.” Coincidence in timing but with Walker Hayes “90’s Country” it seems our musicians recognize a time in country music that was arguably at it’s best. Alaina draws not only on her country idols in the song, but hits on the top pop stars of the 90’s, Britney, and TLC.

Cale Dodds also released a new single “What We Gonna Do About It.” It’s one of those fun, turn up the volume on a Friday night kind of songs. Also don’t skimp on the music video, because that is equally as fun and zany.

Also it seems like every few months we are talking about a new song by Levi Hummon. This past Friday, Levi introduced fans to his new song “Patient.” Catchy lyrics and fun beats seem to be Hummon’s game and this song is just further proof of his gaining success.
