Artist You Need to Know: Livy Jeanne

While she’s a new name and a new face in Nashville, Livy Jeanne has been in the Canadian country music scene since 2010.

It all began when Livy won the 13-17 division of the Global Country Star Search in Edmonton in May 2010. Two years later in January of 2012, she released her first single, titled “Invisible.” It’s a deeply, personal song the artist wrote about her own experience of being bullied throughout her school years.

The single led to a tour across Alberta called You Don’t Have To Be Invisible. The following summer, Livy released her next single “Any Other Way” which peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Canada Country Chart.

Two years later in 2015, Livy released her LP Dashboard Renegade, a 10 song album that includes the single “All Kinds of Crazy.” The album gives a perfect introduction into Livy’s music style: a little rock in roll with a Carrie Underwood type attitude. Look out for this girl.

Livy’s most notable success came when she penned the song “Daddy’s Little Girl” for the UK hit country duo The Shires. The song was a part of the Shires wildly successful album My Universe and was released as a single in 2017.

Just this summer Livy treated her fans to two brand new songs. “Easy on You” is a fun, bluesy song that speaks of the girl taking the lead in the relationship, making things easy on her guy.

“Wrong For You,” the second song released this past July, is a more up tempo song, but with lyrics that completely contradict the feelings you get from the song. With lyrics such as “You said all the right things, made all the right moves, I really wish I wasn’t wrong for you,” this is a break up song that makes you want to hit the dance floor.

Livy definitely knows how write a hit song, and sing a song with such confidence and allure it’s easy to see how her status has only grown since moving to Nashville; and will only continue to do so.
