New Music Roundup: July 30

This past Friday was full of new country music. There was a new album from a country legend (Kenny), a new country artist (Catherine McGrath), and a country artist you may not know of (Cody Jinks). There were a few new singles released by up and coming artists as well, so let’s dive right into it.

Kenny Chesney released his latest album “Songs for the Saints.” Inspired by the events of Hurricane Irma destroying much of the Virgin Island, Kenny truly wrote this album from the heart. Seeing his friends and fans in the Caribbean going through a difficult time, Kenny wrote the entirety of the album in less than a month after the hurricane.

Newcomer Catherine McGrath released her debut album “Talk of This Town.” She’s going to be a star in country music, it’s just a matter of when. She’s actually from the UK, but definitely has the chops to make it in Nashville. We’re huge fans of her, here at Raised On It. Keep an eye on her.

Cody Jinks is an artist you may not have heard of before, but he’s someone you should checkout. If you’re more of a fan of the traditional sound of country music, Jinks is perfect for you then. He has a traditional sound to his songs on this album, but it’s a catchy album from start to finish.

Canadian country music singer Livy Jeanne dropped a new single this week. She’s someone to add to your playlist of under the radar artists. Enjoy “Easy on You.”

As mentioned on last week’s podcast, Spencer Crandall is a new artist to keep your eye on. Check him out on his social media pages as he’s constantly posting covers. His music has such a fun and fresh new sound to it and that’s no different with his latest release “City Girl.”
